MANUFACTURE OF A HAND CRAFTED VAUEN TOBACCO PIPE
150 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, DEDICATION AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Each and every hand made VAUEN briarwood tobacco pipe goes through the same rigorous sixty (60) step production program
before given the honor of bearing the well known VAUEN trademark. Due to time constraints, this presentation will focus on
twelve (12) specific steps in this process that are considered essential manufacturing milestones in the creation of any VAUEN pipe.
However, even before the production process can begin, VAUEN's veteran purchasing staff is hard at work locating and procuring
only the finest quality, natural wood stocks and other materials that are critical to the production of a VAUEN quality tobacco pipe.
Foremost in this effort, is the physical inspection, grading and purchase of premier Mediterranean Region briarwood tubers.
Once received by VAUEN, these select briarwood tubers are then subjected to an exacting series of tests to insure the absolute conformance of these raw materials to the high standards of excellence demanded by VAUEN for tobacco pipe production. For reference, less than ten percent (10%) of top quality Mediterranean briar wood tubers purchased by VAUEN in any given year successfully pass the company's appearance, stress, cohesion, grain and finish testing standards.
